Need a computer?
Sometimes a good machine comes through this shop that nobody is coming back for. When that happens it gets wiped, set up clean, and handed to someone who needs one. If that is you, call and say so.

Who this is for
Veterans first. People without stable housing. And sometimes just somebody in a hard spot who needs a working computer to get to the next thing, whether that is a job application, a benefits portal, schoolwork, or staying in touch with family.
There is no form to fill out and no proof to bring. You call, you tell us what is going on, and we tell you straight whether we have anything right now.
How to ask

You will get a real answer either way. If there is nothing available, you will hear that plainly instead of being strung along, and we will keep you in mind for the next one.
If things are worse than a computer
If you are a veteran in crisis or having thoughts of hurting yourself, that comes first and it is free and confidential, 24/7. Dial 988 and press 1, or text 838255, or chat at VeteransCrisisLine.net. If you are in immediate danger, call 911. That line exists for exactly this moment.
What you get
- The drive fully wiped and a clean Windows install, so nothing from the last owner is on it and nothing of ours is watching it.
- Updates already run before it leaves.
- A printed sign in sheet with your password on it and instructions in plain English.
- No remote access, ever. Once it is yours, we are not on it.
- It is yours. No repayment, no strings, nothing owed.
What we cannot promise
This is not a program with a budget and a waiting list. It is one veteran with a repair bench and whatever good hardware happens to come through it. Some months there is a machine ready to go. Some months there is nothing. We will not pretend otherwise to make this page read better.
What we can promise is that asking costs you nothing, you will not be judged for asking, and money will never be the reason you get turned away from this shop.
Have equipment to trade in?
This only works because machines come in, and the straightest way to bring one is a trade-in. If you own the equipment and transfer it to VetTech Homefront LLC, eligible devices may qualify for service credit after inspection, agreed with you in writing before any work begins — the same terms we use for our paying business clients on data destruction and equipment disposal. This is a trade-in, not a donation drive.

To be straight with you about the tax side: VetTech Homefront LLC is a for profit business, not a charity. Veterans Tech Outreach is a separate Ohio registered organization with its own federal EIN, and it has not applied for or received IRS recognition as a 501(c)(3) tax exempt organization. Nothing you hand us is tax deductible and we will not issue a receipt saying otherwise.
Why we do this
The first person who ever called this business was in a hard spot. His machine was not worth fixing, so he left with a different one instead of a repair bill. That was the first job this shop ever logged, and it set the tone for the rest of it.
